Periodic Inspections

All electrical installations deteriorate with age and use and therefore should be regularly inspected and tested to make sure they are in good condition and to the correct standard for use. This is called “periodic inspection” It is recommended any inspections should be carried out every five years or at the end of a completed tenancy.

Electrical Conditioning Reports

A condition report (EICR) forms part of the periodic inspection and reports on the safety of the wiring within the property. It guarantees the safety of the resident.

Portable Appliance Testing

Although there are no set rules for PAT testing to take place, it is desired within the home to be carried out every 24 months or every 12 months if you are a landlord and have tenants. Any appliance which has a flex and plug that can be connected to a socket requires testing.

Fire Alarm Testing and Maintenance

At Switched On Yorkshire we undertake the testing and maintenance of fire alarms systems, to make sure they are in good working condition. Testing should take place every six months. We can also give recommendations on planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance. As well as the installation of smoke detectors to your property.

Landlord Gas Safe Certificates

Gas safe certificates (C12) are required every 12 months for gas Boilers and other gas appliance installed in rented or properties which have room rentals and must be completed by a gas safe registered engineer. Switched On (Yorkshire) Ltd are Gas safe registered number 64220.

Boiler Servicing

To ensure your gas boiler is working to it’s optimum performance year on year, it is recommended you have your boiler serviced by a gas safe registered installer.
